Tools for talking about climate feelings. And acting on them.
Eco Emotions Lab helps young people and youth workers move from helplessness about the climate crisis to agency. We work with eco-emotions, build resilience and turn feelings into local action.
Climate anxiety is real. It doesn’t have to freeze you.
Many young people feel worried, sad or angry about the climate crisis. Many youth workers feel the same, and aren’t sure how to talk about it with their groups.
These feelings are a reasonable response to a real problem. Eco Emotions Lab treats them as a starting point: something to name, share and turn into action close to home.
By January 2027 we want to reach more than 100 youth workers with free, ready-to-use tools.
Our approach in three steps
We combine work on emotions and resilience with Design Thinking, starting from the empathy phase.
Understand eco-emotions
Put words to what you feel about the climate. Anxiety, grief and anger are reasonable, and naming them helps.
Build resilience
Body-based and nature exercises that help you and your group stay grounded when the news is heavy.
Act locally
Design Thinking steps that turn a feeling into a small project in your school, street or town.
Every exercise starts with what you actually feel.
In focus groups in Poland, Spain and Georgia, young people showed their climate emotions with collages and Lego. What we learned there is shaping the toolkit and the e-learning course.
